TF Sport Scores WEC Fuji Thriller with Corvette Z06 GT3.R (LMGT3)
TF Sport's nail-biting victory at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 6 Hours of Fuji showcased the resilience of the customer-run Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

TF Sport's nail‑biting victory at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 6 Hours of Fuji showcased the resilience of the customer‑run Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and delivered some of the most dramatic racing seen in the LMGT3 class this year.
Early in the race the No. 81 Corvette Z06 GT3.R shared by Charlie Eastwood, Rui Andrade and Tom Van Rompuy suffered an early penalty that dropped the C8‑based racer down the order. Through disciplined traffic management and consistent long‑run pace, the team clawed back time on the leading Ferrari and McLaren entries. Crucially, TF Sport stretched its fuel stint by one lap, allowing Van Rompuy to avoid a final splash‑and‑dash and emerge on the same lap as the leader. The final minutes produced the season's defining moment: Eastwood crossed the line in second place on track, only for the leading Ferrari to receive a five‑second penalty for track‑limits abuse, handing TF Sport its second LMGT3 victory of 2025.
The win was as much about strategy as outright speed. Andrade explained that the Corvette's long‑run performance allowed the team to offset their early penalty, noting that the Z06 GT3.R "came alive when we needed it most". Team principal Tom Ferrier praised the drivers for keeping their cool and credited Corvette's tyre longevity—vital in Fuji's fluctuating temperatures—for enabling the final‑stint charge.
